Scientific American: Muscle Twitch Switch

Genetic finding could mean muscular gain without pain. In the battle against flab, who would not love an "exercise" pill? Such a quick fix might be possible: biomedical researchers have found a way to rev up the metabolic machinery and thereby keep excess weight off, using genetics instead of the gym.
A very informative article published by Scientific American magazine and written by Diane Martindale

Gain more muscle mass with a better system

Most bodybuilders are obsessed with weight lifting training. They think training is the only response, the only secret to gain more muscle mass. But They are totally wrong!

Muscle building process is a triangular system. You can see the muscular growth scheme below.

Weight lifting training is only 1 third part of the whole system. It is obvious that if you improve only one part of the system you will obtain better results.Well, It can be obvious, but not completely right. A more demanding weight lifting training requires more rest and better nutrition system to cover the increased demands of your body, if you want to see results.

The only way to gain more muscular mass is building a better system up!
  1. Improve your training to give your muscles a more profound estimulation.
  2. Improve your rest. I am not talking about sleeping more, but achieving more sleep quality. Taking a 30 minutes nap is a good point to consider about.
  3. Improve your diet. Take the right amount of calories, water, macronutrients, micronutrients to cover the increased demands of your body. Your objetives or goals determine your diet as well.If your goal is getting low bodyfat levels you must adjust your diet for these requirements.

Finally, Consider this analogy. If you want to build the wall (body) of your dreams up; Proper diet provides you the bricks to build a better body. Weightlifting training provides the cement to join these bricks and get the desired muscle mass growth; and rest is the time needed to materialize the whole process.
